Menikio

Located in Menikio
A herd of wild horses lives on the slopes of Mountain Menikio, at an altitude of 1,500 metres, near the village of Mikropoli. Until the 1970s, horses were indispensable for carrying out farm work. When these lost their value as "work tools" their owners decided to leave them live freely in their natural environment. Over the decades, their number has risen and now there are about three hundred, from thirty allegedly initially released.
