The Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory

The Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory was officially opened on 13.03.1981, but regular scientific activity monitoring dates back to September 1980. It is Bulgaria's largest one-off investment in scientific infrastructure (over BGN 12 million) and is still the largest the large astronomical observatory in the Balkans, and generally in this region of Southeastern Europe.
