Hiking trail “Mikropoli – Panagia Kastaniotisa”

Located in Mikropoli
The hiking route is 5.5 km long and starts from the village of Mikropoli, heading to the chestnut forest in the area of “Panagia Kastaniotissa”, a small Chapel dedicated to Virgin Mary. The uphill road is south-southwest, and is in very good condition throughout the year. The trail is easy. At an altitude of 800 lies the plateau of Panagia Kastaniotissa in a landscape full of chestnuts. There is also an old hiking cabin. The chapel has been built in recent years; every 15th of August, hundreds of believers gather there to honor the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
